A Musical Theater Intensive for ages 14-16

Signature is pleased to announce the launch of Stage One:  Musical Theatre Intensive for ages 14-16, an exploration into the world of musical theater for young performers. The program will be held July 14 – 18 and July 21 - 25 at Signature Theatre.

Anyone aged 14-16 who is interested in the world of musical theater and wants to hone his or her vocal and dance skills, this class is for you. Stage One is the prequel to Signature’s successful Overtures Musical Theater Institute. It provides personalized, supportive instruction by musical theater professionals so that young people may further develop their talent. The program explores the three essential areas required in performing in musical theater: acting, singing, and dancing. 

Taught by Signature staff, directors, and actors, Stage One students will take part in daily dance and singing classes, as well as learn how to make bold acting choices appropriate for the “larger than life” qualities of musical theater. The skills the participants develop will be demonstrated at the conclusion of the intensive with a showcase for family and friends.

AUDITIONS
Open auditions for Stage One will be held at Signature Theatre on Saturday, May 10, from 10:30 – 11:30am. 

Please prepare at least 16 bars from two contrasting musical theater songs, bring the sheet music, and come in clothing comfortable for moving.
